Roasted Cocoa Beans: Ecuadorian, Arriba Superior Selecto

Like coffee, cacao beans can be roasted to various levels. We will be working with Ecuadorian beans that have hints of caramel, cashew and grape when fully developed.

When you order cacao beans they will be sold either as nibs (whole bean option) or as rough ground.

Rough ground cacao can be added to your coffee grounds when you brew for a nice added variation to a standard coffee brew. The cacao can also be brewed by itself as a coffee alternative. Ground cacao can also be ‘bloomed’ if you are interested in trying it for baking.

Nibs will need to be ground to be used but you can have full control over what you do with the cacao!

GRINDING RECOMMEDATION FOR BREWING: DO NOT USE A BURR GRINDER AS IT WILL ACTIVATE THE OILS AND WILL CLOG WITH COCOA BUTTER. BLADE GRINDERS ARE RECOMMENDED AND PULSE YOUR GRIND.
